Mothers’ Union and Friends
Our autumn meetings started on September 11th at 8pm in St. James Hall, Mallow using our theme for the year “Your Gift – Discover and Celebrate”. Some members displayed their crafts and explained how they were made. We had a great variety including Jewellery, Encaustic Art, Tapestry, Rug making, Knitting, Flowers etc. One lady brought in her dog and spoke about pet therapy and how it can be used in nursing homes. We finished our meeting with a PowerPoint showing the different projects the Mothers Union can be involved in. We were reminded with God in our lives it helps to develop our gifts. Thanks to everyone who contributed on the night. Our next meeting is on Tuesday October 16th at 8pm in St. James Hall when Richard Lynch will share with us about his trip to Uganda in 2010. This meeting is open to all parishioners.

Also we will have MU Literature available for sale that night and a reminder to our members that our membership is due to be paid to our treasurer.

Do you give more than €250.00 to the church each year?
If so it might be of benefit to join the Parish envelope scheme. There is a “Tax Back” scheme for charities where if the charity (in this case the parish) can show that a person has given over €250 in a year the tax will be returned. If you are a PAYE worker the tax is sent straight to the parish; in the case of Self-employed the credit goes to you. While we feel great sympathy for the Tax Man in these hard time we still feel that the parish is a deserving cause!! If you would like to have envelopes please put your name on the list in the back of the church and we will organise a pack of envelopes for you.
