As Good Friday and Holy Saturday becomes Easter Eve, we celebrate one
of the most dramatic and vivid services of the Christian year, as we light the
new fire of Easter, welcoming the light of Christ who overcomes the
darkness of death, and celebrating the first Eucharist of Easter.

If any be lovers of God, let them rejoice in this
beautiful and radiant feast. If any be faithful servants,
let them gladly enter into the joy of their Lord. If any
are wearied with fasting, let them now reap their
reward. Enter then, all of you, into the joy of your
Master. Let no one fear death; for the death of the
Saviour has set us free.
