The Feast of the Epiphany of the Lord, being one of the principal holy days to be observed in the Church of Ireland, will be celebrated in St Fin Barre’s Cathedral Cork on Wednesday next, 6th January 2021.
Given the current Level 5 restrictions I will be assisted by the Dean of Cork and the Archdeacon of Cork, Cloyne and Ross. The Reverend Meurig Williams will also be present because, during the Service, I shall institute him to the Incumbency of Mallow Union of Parishes.
No congregation is permitted to attend, unfortunately. Needless to say, it is a matter of great regret that the current pandemic is curtailing our welcome to a new priest who has heard God’s call to come among us, but it is also vital that he be instituted to the benefice so that his ministry here may commence.
I do hope that many of you will join in this act of worship online, prayerfully to support the new rector of Mallow who I warmly welcome to Cork, Cloyne and Ross. I know that even your virtual and spiritual presence would be a welcome and encouragement to him.
The Epiphany Eucharist will commence at 7 p.m. and you may access it online via either
