Christmas Concerts Friday 13th//14th December St. James’ Church Mallow
We are delighted to announce due to popular demand we have decided to add another night to the annual Christmas Concert in St. James’ Church, Mallow and that is Saturday 14th December. Both nights will feature the following: Cór Mhágh Ealla, Linda Kenny, Damian Smith, Pamela Muganwa, Alan Carney MD & Friends. We are encouraging all parishioners who have not already done so to purchase tickets for this concert. Our parish funds look like we will have a shortfall at the end of the year and this would be an enjoyable way to support the parish and also have a nice night out. Tickets for the Saturday 14th are available from Katie’s Newsagent Mallow, Susan Brennan 086/3530401 or any of the church wardens.

Notes from Vestry Meeting 9/10/19
Correspondence – a thank you letter was received from Canon Eithne and Richard Lynch
Finances – The assessment of €15,000 is due now in November. At present it looks as if we will have a loss at the end of the year. Any fundraising ideas please let the vestry members know.
Rectory – Thanks to Andrew Gardiner and Susan Buckley the rectory is well under way with the work. New timber flooring is being put down, new stove put in sitting room and painting inside and outside. The flat roof leak is still to be done. It was suggested that the heating would be left on for a few hours each day in the rectory
St. James’ Church – nothing to report
St. Mary’s Castletownroche – still waiting on prices on doors
St. Mary’s Doneraile – floor at the back of the church is to be seen after by Andrew Gardiner. The vestry needs to be tidied up and everyone is to leave church as they find it.
Safeguarding trust – this must be completed shortly when we get the guidelines
Health and Safety – All ok
Christmas Concert – Susan Brennan told us that the tickets for the 13th December were nearly sold out and asked would it be possible to hold a second concert on the Saturday 14th December. As far as she knew all the same artists were available. It was agreed to hold the second night. Also as we may have a shortfall in finances this is one way of making some of it up. A Concert meeting was arranged for Tuesday 22nd October at Susan Brennan’s home at 8pm.
Carol Services are as follows: St. James’ Mallow 15th December at 7pm
St. Mary’s Castletownroche – 22nd December 3pm
St. Mary’s Doneraile – 29th December 3pm
Rectors Business – Rev Alan Marley asked that during the vacancy can the Rectors’ Warden please bring the bread for Holy Communion. Thanks to Diana Buckley for doing the newsletter so nice and clearly. Thanks to our Secretary Linda Deane and Treasurer Jackie Nagle
Date of next meeting 4th December at 8pm in St. James’ Hall Mallow.

To the Parish of Mallow Union
Thank you all for the great send off you gave us on 25th August – for the many many kind good wishes and gifts. Also for the wonderful lunch and the welcome you gave to all who attended.

Thank you also for all the support you gave us during our time with you in the parish. We remember with fondness being with you during the happy times such as Baptisms, Confirmations and Weddings. We remember also the more difficult times when there was illness and death. It was a privilege to be allowed to be part of your lives for these occasions. I hope that our presence was of some comfort and help at these sad times.

Our very best wishes to the parish for the future. You have many talents – continue to use them well for all in the community.
With love,
Eithne and Richard
