We wish everyone a Happy and Peaceful NewYear and all Best Wishes for 2018. All our Christmas events are over now for another year.
First of all we would like to thank Susan Brennan for all the work she put into the a sell out and was a very enjoyable evening. Thanks to everyone who helped preparing for it and on the night as well as all those who came to support it. The Christmas Jigsaw Club on the 9th December was also a great success. Thanks
to all who worked at this and the children who came to it. A special thanks to the children and the helpers for the beautiful banners they made for each of the three churches. The following Sunday the Carol Service was held in St. James’ Mallow at 7.30pm on the 10th December. We thank all our readers, organist, and those who helped with the tea.
Another Carol service was held in St. Mary’s Castletownroche on Sunday 17th of December at 3.00pm. Thanks also to the church decorators, organist, readers and those who helped with the tea there.
Our Christmas Eve Services were in St. James’ Mallow at 8pm and St. Mary’s Doneraile at 11.30pm and then on Christmas Day in St.Mary’s Castletownroche at 10am and St. James’ Mallow at 11.45pm. Thanks again to all organists, readers and all who helped to make these services run so smoothly.
The Children’s party was on Thursday 28th December at 3pm in St. James’ Hall, Mallow. A great time was has by all. Thanks to all involved in this and to Santa for making a quick visit even though he was exhausted.
The last of our Christmas services was St. Mary’s Doneraile Carol Service on Sunday 31st at 3pm. Thanks to our church decorators, organist, readers, soloist and those who provided the tea. Later again that night in St. Mary’s Doneraile at 11.50pm we had a few short prayers before the Old Year was tolled out and the New Year rung in, after which we had a cup of tea. (We have tea at every opportunity!)
