On the 20th January we were all very sorry to hear the news of the death of Mrs.
Olive Buckley. Olive was well known in Doneraile Church and community. Olive
served as a licensed Reader since 1993, ministering principally in her home parish
Saint Mary’s, Doneraile. She also served for many years on Diocesan Synod and
Select Vestries and many more committees. She taught Sunday school for many
years. May she rest in God’s peace and rise in glory.

Women’s World Day of Prayer 2017
This international and interdenominational day of informed prayerful action will be
celebrated in St. Mary’s Church, Doneraile on Friday 3rd March at 8pm. This year’s
service has been prepared by the Christian women of The Philippines based on
story of the vineyard workers Matthew 20 vs 1-16 with the theme “Am I Being
Unfair to You?” Older parishioners and those who know of the old Irish Hiring
Fairs will be able relate to this topic. The congregation on that night in Doneraile
will form a link in a 24 prayer cycle which begins in Togo just east of the
international dateline and ends a day later in New Zealand on March 3rd. A
collection will be taken up which the national Women’s World Day of Prayer
committee distribute to charities at home and abroad. Men, women and children are
welcome.
Register of Vestry members
The register of vestry members has to be update annually. At our next Vestry
meeting on the 22nd February we will be updating this. If you are not on the list, or
not sure if you are on the list please talk to the Rector or Churchwardens and they
will give you a form for completion. You need to be on the register to have a vote
at the Easter Vestry (6th April) to elect those who you wish to have on the Select
Vestry for the coming year.
Sympathy
We express our sympathy to Bill Buckley and all the Buckley and Bryan family on
