Poppy Collections
Thanks to all who contributed to the Poppy Collections in November and to the
organisers of the collection in each of the Churches. A total of €278 was
collected. €143 Doneraile, €59.42 Mallow and €79 in Castletownroche.
Mother’s Union
Some members attended the M.U Conference in Celtic Ross Hotel on the
weekend 18th -20th November. A big thank you to everyone who organised the
weekend.
Our Christmas meal this year was on Wednesday 30th November in the Arches
Mallow at 8pm. Thanks to all who came to support it a great night was had by all
and thanks to all who organised it. Thanks to all involved in the entertainment for
the night.

St. John’s Buttevant
Thanks to all who supported the Christmas Bazaar on the 27th November at 3pm
in Buttevant GAA Hall. Your support was greatly appreciated.
Our annual Carol Service will be on Wednesday 14th December at 8pm in St.
John’s Church. Hope to see you all there.
Christmas Concert
The Christmas Concert is in St. James Church on Friday 9th December at
8pm. Tickets have been sold out for the concert. Some volunteers to serve
the mulled wine and teas would be welcome. If available please contact

Jigsaw Christmas
A ‘Jigsaw Christmas’ will take place in the hall at St. James church on Saturday
17th December, from 2pm to 5pm. This is open to all 5 to 14 year olds. It will
include lots of activities and a look at the Nativity story. At 5pm we will hold a
short service to which we invite all parents and friends. for more details and

to know those coming by 10th December.
Carol Singing
If you are free on Wednesday 28th December at 2.30pm please come along
and join in the singing of carols in Amberley Nursing Home, Fermoy. Last
year a group of people went carol singing here and the residents really
enjoyed it and are looking forward to a group coming again this year.
Children’s Christmas Party
There will be a party for all the parish primary school children and preschool
children in St. James Hall on Thursday 29th December at 3pm. Santa
is hoping to call in. If you want any further information about this please

Bible Study Group
Find out more about the background to books of the bible and discuss what God’s
word is telling us. A bible study group meets in the hall at St. James church on a
Wednesday from 7pm to 8.30pm please feel free to join us. We are a mixed group
from different backgrounds and experiences. We welcome all especially those
who are not sure what they believe.
Sympathy
We express our sympathy to Jacqueline Worcester-Box and family on the death of
her father Michael and to Olive Kingston on the death of her niece Brenda
Auchmuty.
Congratulations to Emmanuel Adebisi, one of our Lay Readers, who received
his Irish Citizenship at a ceremony on Dublin recently.
