Happy New Year to all and all best wishes for 2016. Hope you had a Peaceful and Happy Christmas. By the time you read this we will have had our Carol Services in all our churches (Doneraile today at 3pm), our Concert in Mallow Church, our Christmas Eve and Christmas Day services. Thanks to all who decorated our Churches for Christmas and those who read and supplied music and made all our Christmas Services so special.

Christmas Concert
The Christmas Concert was held in St. James Church on Friday 11th December at 8pm. Thanks to all our Artists Cor Mhagh Ealla, Elaine Canning – Soprano, Dan Twomey – Tenor, Alan Carney – Accompanist, Davis College Choir/Trad Group and Pamela Muganwa. Thanks to all who helped in any way with this concert to make it the great success that it was. Just over €5000.00 was made for parish funds.
Mothers Union
Thanks to all who came out to Charleville Park Hotel on Wednesday 2nd December for a meal. It was a very sociable evening and thanks to the hotel for a wonderful meal and donating a voucher for a prize. Well done to Linda Deane the winner. Also thanks to Linda Deane for giving everyone there a box of mince pies to bring home with them and for making the arrangements with the hotel for the night.
Our next meeting is a trip to Cork bowling on Wednesday 27th January at 8pm. If you are able to go please contact Ruth Sherlock or any other member so that she can arrange numbers on or before Sunday 24th January. You don’t have to be a member of the Mothers Union to go bowling.
Thanks to all who went to Amberley Home on Monday 28th December to sing carols. Thanks to Emmanuel for saying prayers at the end of the singing and to Amberley Home for the tea. All residents were delighted with the singing and especially Bill and Olive Buckley.

Doneraile Maintenance
A variety concert in aid of the Church Building Maintenance Fund will D.V. be held in St. Mary’s Church, Doneraile on Friday 5th February 2016 at 8pm. Admission tickets costing 10 euro each ( includes light refreshments) will be available nearer the concert date from the People’s Churchwardens – Jackie Nagle -Doneraile, Myrtle Forde – Castletownroche and Ruth Sherlock – Mallow. Bookings can be made through Ina Lillis 022-25295 or 087 6921649. The Cahirmee Singers and the Nagle Rice School Choir will be making a very welcome return visit. Munster champion Under 15 melodeon player, Rachel Lynch, and flautist Pat Pearce, Kingston College Musical Director, will provide instrumental music while we will have solo singing from tenor Michael O’ Keeffe accompanied by Edward Winter and Pamela Muganwa Gospel Singer.

World Day of Prayer
This year the World Day of Prayer service will be in Hazelwood Church on Friday 4th March 2016. Time to be confirmed in next newsletter.

Sympathy
We sympathise with Hugh Furney and all the family on the death of his father, Desmond recently in Cloyne.
