Cor Mhagh Ealla – The Crucifixion
This Easter season, Cor Mhagh Ealla, Mallow’s award winning choir, will present The Crucifixion by John Stainer in St. James’s Church, Mallow under the direction of Mark
Slade. The Crucifixion is a 19th century oratorio written for choir, organ and solo voices and includes hymns for congregational participation. Cor Mhagh Ealla is pleased to invite guest soloists Ryan Morgan, tenor, and Denis Lane, bass to sing with them for this stirring piece. Other seasonable pieces will also be performed by the choir and soloists. The concert will take place on Saturday, April 12 at 8:00 PM. Tickets are €10 or €8 for students and are available at The Hibernian Hotel in Mallow or at the door on the night. We hope you will join us for what should prove to be a very enjoyable evening of music.
Dave Rea
Always popular – Dave Rea will be performing in St James’ Church on Friday 25th April at 8pm. Admission €10 at the door on the night. Proceeds in aid of the church roof fund.
Mothers’ Union
On Wednesday 16th April we have been invited by Lismore M .U. to join with them on their prayer walk. This year the walk will take place in the Lismore Castle Gardens @ 3pm. Afterwards refreshments will be served in Lismore hotel. The prayer walk will be led M. U. All Ireland president Mrs Phylis Grothier. If interested in going contact Ruth Sherlock.
Our next meeting will be on Tuesday 29th April in St. James Hall @8pm. Our guest speaker will be Mrs Margaret Kingston from Tipperary. She will speak on Health & Well being inside out. She is an excellent speaker. So come and support. All are welcome.
Baptism
On the 2nd March we were delighted to have two baptisms in St. James Mallow. Esther Adebisi came to be baptised on her 11th birthday. Neville and Pauline Sweetnam brought their son Andrew Hubert Noel to become a member of the christian community that day also. We welcome them both and congratulation them. Thanks to Canon Tom Sherlock for officiating.
American Tea Party
Thanks to all involved in any way with the organising of The American Tea party in St. James Hall on Friday the 28th March. Thanks to all who came and supported this fundraiser for St. James Church Maintenance fund. A great night was had by all.

Chess Club
The chess club meets on Wednesdays at 7.45pm in the Hall. They always welcome new members. Just go along, they will be pleased to see you. They are happy to teach beginners and experienced players are also welcome.
Sympathy
We wish to express our sympathy to Susan Buckley, Tommie and Robert Deane and Hazel O’Keeffe on the death of their sister Kathleen Newton in Ballinasloe and to all the Deane and Newton family. Sympathy also goes to the family of Sheila Moore on her recent death and to the Hales family on the deaths of both Stephen Hales (in January) and Dorothy Graves (in March).

Barnardos have been announced as the charity partner for the Colour Me Fun Run which is taking place on Saturday, 3rd May in C.I.T. Sports Grounds, Cork. Barnardos will received 20% of all ticket sales for this event which is fantastic support for work in the Cork area. Volunteers are required from 10am to assist with the running of this event.
